General Rules and Guidelines

You can send as many proposals as you want.

AdieCon will be virtual in 2021 and talks will be given using a technology such as Zoom.

You can submit a 10-minute talk, a 20-minute talk or a 5-minute talk.
-
Preference is given to Ada Alum speakers, but all are welcome to apply.

Adhere to the Code of Conduct.
Who Should Submit A Proposal

Adies: Graduates, interns and current students of Ada Developers Academy
-
Allies: Sponsoring companies, co-workers, friends and those in the tech industry committed to hiring, promoting and retaining diverse talent
Abstract Instructions

The Abstract should be less than two pages in twelve point font.

Keep in mind an abstract is not a complete talk, but a pitch for the talk you plan to give

The Abstract should follow this format:

Title
-
Author
-
Ada Cohort, if Applicable
-
Length of talk in time
-
Summary (100 words or less)
-
What the audience will learn from your talk (100 words or less)

The Abstract (400 words, give or take)

Speaker bio (100 words or less)

Selection Process
-
When we read your proposal, we will be asking ourselves this: how will this talk will support the Ada Community? Will this information help advance the careers of people in our community?

Topic and content will also drive the proposal selection.

Originality is encouraged.

All proposals will be picked through a blind selection. We will anonymize all proposals so readers will not know who submitted the proposal(s).
